Not Your Average Vocoder

Blezz Beats Vocodine was carefully crafted to get as close as possible to the sound of the physical talk box — the synth-through-a-tube-into-your-mouth effect behind decades of funk, soul and electronic classics — without the tube, the amp or the setup marathon. It is a hybrid vocoder: classic analogue character on the surface, modern spectral processing underneath. Insert it on a vocal track, play it from a MIDI keyboard or let it tune itself, and your voice becomes the instrument.

Three techniques make it convincing: consonant isolation keeps your articulation clear, a physical model of the plastic tube supplies the resonance, and impulse actuation keeps the response dynamic and human.

One Plugin, Whole Signal Chain

Vocodine carries its own synth engine, voiced specifically for talk box work, so there is no carrier/modulator routing puzzle to solve before you can make a sound. Prefer your own synth as the carrier? Route an external one in — both workflows are supported.

• Generator — blend square, pulse and sawtooth waves; shape, bend, glide and cutoff controls; mono/poly switch.
• Modifier — character, tone and formant shaping, tube (hose drive) and saturation, plus a lock control.
• Chorus — JUNO-style chorus for instant width.
• Performance section — gate, consonants, sensitivity, leak and mix knobs to dial in clean, intelligible results; grab and hold a soundwave mid-performance.

Keyboard or AUTO

Play precise lines with a MIDI keyboard, or switch to AUTO mode, pick a scale, and Vocodine detects the pitch of your singing and generates the notes for you. Mono mode nails the single-line voice-box style; poly mode opens up stacked harmonies. The v1.2.1 update adds legato, a noise generator, dry/wet mix, presets and scale presets, and improved pitch tracking — and updates are free for owners, with activation on up to 5 computers.
