Sonic Academy KICK 3

Your Kicks Are Only As Good As Your Kick Designer

Weak kicks make weak tracks — it’s that simple. Samples are a lottery; Sonic Academy KICK 3 is the cheat code. Design kicks from the ground up: pick or import the click, synthesise the sub, draw the pitch envelope, and finish with built-in drive, EQ, compression and limiting. One plugin, total kick control.

Click + Sub: The Proven Formula

Every great kick is two sounds: a click that cuts through and a sub that moves air. KICK 3 gives you both, fully loaded. Choose the click from the extensive built-in library — or drop in your own sample — then synthesise the sub body with precise pitch-envelope control. Tune it to your track’s key and it sits in the mix instead of fighting it.

From Punchy to Massive in Minutes

Need a tight minimal techno thump? A booming 808 for trap? A distorted hardstyle kick? Draw the pitch envelope, set the decay, add drive — done. The visual workflow shows you exactly what the kick is doing, so you’re designing with your ears and eyes together. It’s fast enough to use on every track, deep enough to never outgrow.

Presets for Days

KICK 3’s preset library spans every electronic genre — load a starting point, then make it yours by swapping the click or reshaping the envelope. Every preset is 100% editable, so you’ll never sound like everyone else using the same pack.

FAQ

Is KICK 3 good for beginners?

Yes — the presets give instant results, and the visual interface teaches you how kicks actually work as you tweak.

Can it make 808s?

Easily — long decays, pitch envelopes and drive are exactly the 808 recipe.

Do I still need a separate compressor/EQ on my kick?

Usually not — the built-in processing chain covers it, though you can always add more.
