Strezov Sampling Balkan Ethnic Orchestra

Every great score has a color the audience has never quite heard before. For a generation of composers, that color came from the Balkans – the wailing gaida, the driving tapan, the ornamented violin lines of Southeast Europe. Strezov Sampling Balkan Ethnic Orchestra collects over 120 of these instruments into one Kontakt library: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, voices, soloists and ensembles, all captured with Strezov’s obsessive attention to authenticity. At PluginsVST it is €39.99 instead of €406.00 – 90% off – with your license key and a secure download link sent to your email.

The authentic sounds of Southeast Europe

This is not a "world music" grab bag. Every instrument was recorded with players who live the tradition – the ornaments, the tuning quirks, the rhythmic fire are all in the samples, not faked with effects. True legato and dynamic expressions mean melodies sing the way they do in a village square, and the detailed articulations cover everything from mournful solos to full-ensemble frenzy.

An orchestra in a box

• Over 120 instruments: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, voices
• Solo instruments and full ensembles
• True legato and dynamic expression for lifelike melodies

Tradition. Emotion. Authenticity.

That is Strezov’s own summary, and it is accurate. Balkan Ethnic Orchestra doesn’t just add exotic flavor – it gives your scores an emotional register that Western orchestras can’t reach: ecstatic, mournful, defiant, often all three in one phrase.

Beyond the silver screen

While film composers were the first to embrace Balkan Ethnic Orchestra, its sounds have leaked into every genre. Pop producers grab the brass stabs, electronic artists mangle the folk voices, hip-hop beatmakers flip the percussion loops. When 120 instruments cost less than a dinner out, experimentation is free – and some of the most exciting modern records hide a Balkan instrument somewhere in the mix.

Can I use these sounds in commercial releases?

Yes – everything you create with the library is cleared for commercial use.

Is it hard to make it sound authentic?

No – the phrase builder and performance scripts handle the stylistic details, so you get authentic results without studying the tradition.
