GForce Sequential Prophet-5

Some synthesizers are instruments. A few are landmarks. The Prophet-5 is the synth that defined what a polyphonic analog keyboard could be – the bass on countless records, the pads behind a generation of hits, the lead sound everyone recognizes but nobody can quite copy. GForce Sequential Prophet-5 brings that character into your DAW as a modern software instrument, and at 58% off it costs less than a night out.

Why this sound never gets old

The Prophet-5’s magic was never about specifications – it was about the combination. Rich, slightly unruly oscillators beating against each other, a filter with real character that sings when you push the resonance, and an immediacy that made programming it feel like playing it. GForce’s recreation captures that musicality: the warmth in the low end, the cream in the pads, the bite in the leads. It does not sound like a photograph of an old synth; it sounds like the reason people still sample the original.

A palette, not a preset pack

This is an instrument for making your own sounds. Start with the oscillators – detune them slightly and feel the width bloom. Open the filter slowly on a pad and hear why “analog” became a selling point. Dial in a bass that sits under a modern track without fighting the kick, or a lead with enough edge to carry a chorus. Then take it places the hardware never went: synthwave arps, hip-hop bass, ambient textures, film-score pads. The character is vintage; the applications are whatever you are making this week.

Built for the way you actually work

No maintenance, no tuning drift unless you want it, no MIDI retrofit – just the sound, with total recall in your DAW. Automate the filter from your timeline, layer it with your wavetable synths, print it and move on. It loads as a standard plugin on Mac and Windows and behaves like any modern instrument, which means the vintage tone shows up in sessions where the hardware never could: on a laptop, on a deadline, at 2 AM.
